Biography

Gisele Rodrigues, BS, MS is a Technical Analyst of Social Policies in the Department of Non-Communicable Chronic Diseases and Health Promotion Department at the Ministry of Health in Brazil.  Ms. Rodrigues received her BS in Physical Education and her MS in Physical Education and Public Health from the University of Brasília. While studying Brazil’s public health system and its challenges for comprehensive care, Ms. Rodrigues investigated the understanding of health promotion among coordinators of the Diabetes Care Program of Distrito Federal. She also investigated barriers and facilitators for a comprehensive health care for people with diabetes and the role of physical activity as part of diabetes care. She began studying public health management and public policy as part of a program to earn her doctorate.
