Biography

Dr. Aparna Manoharan is Head of Research and Advocacy at IKP Centre for Centre for Technologies in Public Health (ICTPH), Thanjavur, India. Dr. Manoharan earned her Master of Science (MS) in Biological Sciences from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, India, and her doctorate in medical sciences at the University of Florida, Gainesville, USA.  A biomedical scientist by training, Aparna was drawn to public health by her beliefs that global, multi-sectorial approaches are fundamental to tackle global health challenges, and that making proven solutions accessible and implementing prevention and early detection strategies are critical for underserved populations. She hopes to develop additional skills through the mentored project, and to have the opportunity to implement what she learns through PH-LEADER in the innovative programs she works on at SughaVazhvu Healthcare.
