Biography

Shivangi Vats manages the program monitoring and evaluation of a national-level diabetes education program which has trained more than 8,000 physicians in India. She graduated from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, India, with a degree in physiotherapy and worked as a health consultant with Apollo Hospital focusing on corporate and school health plans. After graduating with a degree in health management from the Indian Institute of Health Management Research, New Delhi, she worked with the National Health Systems Resource Center’s Department of Healthcare Financing, where she was involved in the design of the primary healthcare package and its costing framework and analysis. She was closely involved in identification, operationalization, and evaluation of maternal and child health centres in high focus districts of India. She has also worked as a Project Coordinator with Accuster Technologies (Pvt.) Ltd. and was responsible for managing, coordinating and directing the projects of various State and Central Health Ministries along with CSR activities. Vats’ research interests include public health planning and management, healthcare communication, gender studies, and linking public health with corporate citizenship. In the PH-LEADER program she hopes to further develop her skills and insights in managing public health issues.
