Biography

Dr. Elezebeth Mathews is the Program and Quality Control Manager of the Kerala Diabetes Prevention Program at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum. Dr. Mathews earned her PhD and MPH from Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum. Her research interests include physical activity, health promotion, prevention and management of type 2 diabetes, and investigating the role of built-environment in NCD's. Her vision for public health in India is the development of scalable models for diabetes prevention  and policy initiatives for the prevention of chronic diseases. Dr. Mathews hopes to build on her leadership and research capabilities through this program and collaborate to engage in implementation research involving multiple stakeholders.
