Biography
Hortensia Reyes-Morales, MD, MSc, DrSc, family physician, is currently Deputy Director for Quality of Health Care at the Ministry of Health in Mexico. Her former position was as Director of Health Systems Determinants and Challenges at the Center for Health Systems Research of the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) in Mexico; she also was Coordinator and professor of the Program of Doctorate in Sciences in Public Health, area Health Systems at INSP. Dr. Reyes has been working extensively in designing strategies to improving the quality of health care at primary level, focused on the person-centered care; in evaluation of health services; and in designing innovative models for health care provision. Author of more than 100 articles in refereed journals, two books, 39 book chapters and five book editions, Dr. Reyes is member Level II of the National System of Researchers in Mexico.
